Salon Services Haulin'

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted I've just been really busy!
My Mum is a trained beauty therapist which means she has a trade card to Salon services and every so often we go down their and pick up a few bits.

OPI - Trade Price £5. RRP £11.50
OK, I went slightly mad and bought 3 colours which look realllllllly similar but I love them all. These are all colours I've had in the past when I've had a Gel Manicure done and really wanted own. I think this will look great as it gets colder and the darker colours come out in nails and clothes.

Russian Navy.
A lovely Navy Blue which in normal light looks like a lovely simple navy, however in a bit of sunlight it has a lovely fine magenta shimmer.

OPI Ink.
This is very similar to russian navy but more purple i'd say with again a magenta shimmer but not as fine as Russian Navy. I think this is one of my favourite nail polishes ever!

Every month is Oktoberfest.
This is from their Germany Collection so is relatively new compared to the others. It's a lovely purple polish with a red and gold shimmer resulting in a lovely burgundy colour.

OPI Matte Top Coat.
In my last blog post I mentioned how I was desperate to get a top coat so I thought I'd splash out and get a good quality one. It comes out a little thin so I use two coats to get a even result. I don't know how good chip wise so I might try using my normal Top Coat over the polish and then add the Matte Top Coat after

I've found a great photo of it Russian Navy online with a Matte Top Coat which looks lovely. I can't wait to try it out myself!

TIGI Catwalk Root Boost Spray.
They also stock TIGI so i picked this up for £6. I've always wanted to own it after trying it when my old housemate at uni had it but I've just never got around to buying it. The smell isn't great but it gives a great lift just at the roots. I have quite thick hair which can go quite flat at the roots from the weight of it all so this really makes a difference. You spray it right at the root line on wet hair (not at your parting though!) massage it in and blow dry as normal. So easy to use.

Nail Varnish Dreams

I'm not the best at doing nail art but recently I've found some really inspiring photos on the and would like to attempt them myself. The only downside is that I don't own the right colours or any dotting tools to do so! I'm planning doing a few blog posts on my many attempts of nail designs along with any photos of designs I would like to try out.

After seeing this picture I've gone out and bought a new Black nail varnish - Revlon's Knockout. To me Revlon is by far one of the best drugstore brands out there for nail varnishes. (if only I could afford Nails inc and OPI...) This looks like the perfect black as many I've found are too glooby and difficult to use.

I have been looking around for a Matte Top Coat but can't seem to find one in stock! Rimmel used to do one but annoyingly can't see it anywhere, I think they've stopped making it. Bourjois and Essie apparently do one but everywhere I've been it's out of stock. Grrrrrrrrrrr! But once I find one I will certainly be attempting this along with the use of stickers used to get french tips to create the neat line.

I think this is such a great and simple design. perfect for a beginner like me to get more creative with my nails. I think it would look perfect in the winter, when doing a grunge look or with a monochrome outfit!

What's in my Bag/Bag review!

Bag
My Bag is My Mulberry Bayswater. It's dark grey in colour and I got it at Bicester village, because I got it at Bicester it differs slightly to normal a bayswater as it was made specifically for outlet stores. It does not have suede lining, studs on the bottom and does not have a padlock. However this doesn't bother me at all when it's half the price! I got mine for £480. FYI I'm not bragging. I bought this with a collection of birthday money and my own money as I wanted to get something special.

So, What actually is in my bag...
Purse, iPhone, Car Keys, House Keys, Sunglasses and Pouch

Purse
Again also from Bicester it's Mulberry too and hot pink. I got this for £140. It's last seasons colour and would of been £270 full price. As you can see I have very little money and lots of receipts and vouchers for places. It has lots of card slots and spaces to keep things along with two zip compartments, one on the inside where I keep my coins and one on the outside on the back where I keep things like parking tickets.

Vivienne Westwood Pouch
I actually got this free when I bought Naughty Alice and it makes a great pouch for little items you want to carry around with you. I In it currently I have Eyeliner from the body shop, a philosophy daiquiri lipgloss (its amazing!) A mirror, A small deodorant, A hair brush, Eye drops for contact lenses, Headache stick, Plasters and Headache tablets.

Well there you go! I love reading these posts/watching youtube videos and I hope you enjoyed mine.

Create 11 new questions for the chosen bloggers.
Go to their page and tell them about their nomination.
No tag backs!

1.  What is your favourite meal?
Paella cooked at home. We don't do it exactly the right way but it's lush. Plenty of rice, little chopped up bits of onion, peppers and tomatoes. Peas, Chicken, Chorizo, Prawns, Squid, Mussels.  YUM

2. What are you most looking forward to this summer?
My birthday! I get way to excited about my birthday…I've decided to be greedy this year and have to parties. A night out on the weekend and as my birthday is really close to the bank holiday I'm going to have a picnic in the park on the bank  holiday.

3. What's your favourite song and why?
Has to be Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls. Don't know why exactly I just really like it and it never gets old.

4. Where did your blog name come from?
Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series. It's now know as confessions of a shopaholic but it was originally known as The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic. Don't know why it changed!

5. What's your favourite high-end make up brand and why?
It's got to be Chanel, not only is it luxurious I also find it's the best match for me for foundation. I have extremely pale skin which is also pink toned rather than orange so most high street foundations are a no no. I've also bought a lot of items for my Mum as presents which I have tested and would love to own myself. These include Blush, Eye liner and Nail Varnish.

6. What's your biggest pet peeve?
People who can't make decisions. I'm well organised and like to plan things so this really bugs me!

7. If you could only wear one colour for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Blue - Royal Blue. I think Blue goes nicely with my Blonde hair and blue eyes, My eyes are quite dark blue rather than light blue so I prefer a darker/brighter blue than pale blue.

8. Describe your perfect Friday night.
Restaurant with all my friends and then onto a pub. I'm more of a pub than club kinda girl.

9. What's your favourite perfume?
At the moment it's DKNY be delicious. Very summery and easy to wear day and night.

10. What 3 things can you not leave the house without?
My iPhone 5 not only to keep me in touch with everything on the go but for emergency reasons if I need to contact someone, My purse just in case I want to get anything plus its got my ID in it and other bits and bobs like Hair Grips and finally Mascara, I could leave the house with no make up whatsoever except mascara I've got dyed blonde hair but my hair is very light anyway and my eyelashes are too so i like wearing mascara to make my eyes look less small.

11. Apart from your blog, what website do you spend the most time on?
Netflix! I love this website, however I've recently got a smart TV so have been using Netflix on that so perhaps Facebook now.

My Questions:
1) What is your favourite TV Show?
2) Best beauty item under £5?
3) What is your perfect saturday night out?
4) What is your favourite meal?
5) Top 3 items you can't leave the house without?
6) how would your friends describe you?
7)What the one beauty product you re buy every time without trying other brands?
8) What is your biggest pet peeve?
9) What is your favourite perfume?
10) What is your favourite clothing brand?
11) What is your dream luxury item?

Summer Accessories Haul!

They say July is the month women spend the most on clothes and I'd have to agree. I blame the weather. I've decided I either don't like or I'm far too hot for the clothes I've have got, A lot of the tops I own are a bit see though so usually need a vest top underneath and my shorts are either to low rise giving me the dreaded muffin top or are just so old they've gone a bit 'crunchy'. Do you ever find that with denim?

So in the past couple of weeks I've gone a bit crazy with shopping and I thought I'd show you all what I've bought. I've decided to start of the the accessorises so here we go!

New Look Necklace

So many beauty bloggers have this New Look necklace and I think it's stunning. I down own many statement necklaces as I'm not sure about how they look on me yet. (I often see people wearing a huge great thick necklace which isn't long enough with a short fat neck and it just doesn't look great so it's made me a bit scared to try it myself.)

This however is nice and long with an adjustable chain at the back. It's lightweight which is good as I often end up taking heavy necklaces off as I get fed up with them. My only concern is the cream part getting dirty as its material rather than metal.

It's such a reasonable price too at £7.99, Can't go wrong can you? I've been after this necklace for a while and I actually had to hunt for this at the jewellery stands at the Bluewater New Look and found two hidden behind something else result.

I've got so many items I think this would look lovely in and no doubt you will see this in OFTD posts from events I will be going to, one coming up saturday so expect one a few days later!

Next High Heeled Sandals

Usually I tend to avoid the next sales as it can get a bit mad and chaotic but I walked past Next and it looked empty so I went in and went over to the shoe section.

I've been after some nice tan heeled sandals for ages, especially after seeing Kim Sears working hers, does anyone know where they are from?

These beauties were in the sale £40 down to £20 and are leather. I had previously seen them on the website a couple of months ago and liked them. They're very comfy which is good as I don't tend to last long in heels. They actually have poppers to do them up rather than buckles which is good for trying to get them off drunk haha!

I can see myself wearing these with everything, Skinny jeans, Dresses, Skirts and Shorts so i think they were a good choice.

Nail Varnishes

NYC in Blue Sky
To be honest the only reason I bought this because I saw this on Fleur's blog. It looks like theTiffany & Co blue, more than enough reason to buy it. I had also been after a turquoise blue like this for a while and at 1.79 from super drug I thought 'why not?' It's quick drying and you don't need loads of coats to get a good finish. Bargaaaaain!

This is Barry M answer to the infamous Nails Inc Baker St which went crazy after Beyonce wore after the birth of baby Blue.Part of their Gelly collection high shine and a fab colour.

I also picked this up as I've been after a nice coral colour for quite sometime. A lot of the ones out there are very orange and i wanted one more on the pink shade and this is it! it's a lovely bright colour, perfect for summer. I can't wait to put this on my toes.

At the moment Boots are doing a promo where if you send £6 you get a Free Limited Edition summer nail paint from their Barry M Limited Edition Summer Bright Nail Paints Collection. They had pink or yellow to chose from and I chose the pink and its very bright! I will do a full review later.

Thanks for reading, next up will be my clothes haul!

FYI - The background is actually a River Island snood I bought last year which I have yet to wear!

July Wishlist!

Beautysets - June Wishlist
I've wanted these sandals for ages, a bit of out of my price range but hey ho onto the list they go. They come in a wide range of colours so go they them out. Hopefully they will go into the sale soon. I will be going to london shopping for my birthday in  months time so I will have a look around.

I love anything with the Hamsa hand, I recently went a bit crazy in Primark when I saw they were doing a necklace and earring set so I get them in silver and gold! Rose gold is very pretty and very in at the moment. don't actually own much rose gold so this would be a nice addition.

With the incredibly hot weather at the moment in the UK I'm finding it too hot to even wear denim shorts as most of mine are quite thick so I've been bringing out the skirts and dresses. This would be lovely and cool to wear and I think the print is just so cute and would like lovely with khaki top and tan coloured accessories including some high heeled tanned sandals.

I think everyone under the sun either owns this or it is on their wish list. I already have the original naked palette so I am a bit hesitant on spending more for a very similar palette however I have heard that this palette has more cool toned shadows which will probably suit my pale skin more so than the original palette

My First Review!- Vera Wang 'Princess' Perfume Gift Set

My first review is of a perfume set I bought from Fragrance Direct- Vera Wang Gift set.
The gift set contains 50ml Eau de Toilette Spray, 75ml Satin Body Lotion, 75ml Foamy Body Polish.

What Vera Says about it....
Radiant and whimsical... A charming, fruity vanilla. Sparkling in a breeze of Lady Apple and Waterlily... Sweeping her into Ripe Pink Guava and Tahitian Tiare Flower... Tempted to taste wih Dark Chocolate and Pink Frosting Accord, Forbidden Woods and Chiffon Vanilla.

sounds lovely! chocolate and frosting....? no wonder its so popular!
This perfume I have had previously and loved it however it has been a couple of years since I have owned it. I was browsing the website after seeing it on past blogs and thought it contained a great selection with great prices and then I saw this gift set and I knew I had to have it!

I love a perfume gift set where you get a body lotion to use on your legs/arms to moisturise yourself and then use the perfume to compliment it. theres nothing more annoying then having little mix going from difference fragranced products. The perfume is 50ml and comes in one of the prettiest perfume bottles I have seen. it's a heart shaped bottle and it also comes with a hidden ring!

The cap comes as a crown studded with purple stones with a ring underneath also studded with stones. You can wear it as a ring or pair it with the crown and wear it on a chain. How cute!

The perfume itself is very strong so you can use it sparingly so you get more for you money, however I find that it makes a good day perfume as its not very overpowering. Perfect to all occasions including work where you don't want to be stinking of too strong perfume. nothing worse than meeting someone who nearly chokes you to death on Chanel No5. (i know this from past experience...very off-putting!)

The set comes with a body lotion which is lovely and thick like butter which i personally prefer to the more runny lotions you can get. It also comes with a body polish which I have yet to try and I will save for a later review.

This set is available from fragrance direct for the bargainlicious price of £24.90 which I think is an amazing deal considering 50ml alone is around the £45 pound mark. Delivery cost £1.99 which I thought was very good as it arrived quickly, tracked by the royal mail, nicely packaged and well protected. Would absolutly shop there again. If you're looking for a new perfume I would definitely recommend this 3 items for less then £25...not too shabby!

Well there you go my first blog post. hope you like and please leave your comments. Would love to hear your thoughts.
